Privacy Policy
Effective 22 July 2026
Spiced Kopi uses the information needed to run the app, remember your choices, and deliver the news experience you request.
Information we process
- Google or Apple account identifier, email address, and display name when provided by that service.
- Your language, voice, edition, category, publisher, and onboarding preferences.
- Your device push token, notification times, and time zone when you turn on notifications.
- Basic server security and reliability logs, such as request time and IP address.
- Reading activity, likes, saves, appearance, and demo settings stored locally on your device.
How we use it
We use this information to operate your account, restore preferences, personalize your feed, deliver requested notifications, secure the service, and diagnose failures. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app tracking.
Service providers
Apple or Google processes your sign-in when you choose that option. Apple also delivers push notifications. Our hosting and content-processing providers process data needed to operate the service. We require providers to use personal information only to deliver those services and to protect it consistently with this policy. News summaries, translations, images, and narration may be created with automated systems; your account identity is not included in those content-generation requests.
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can permanently delete the account and server-side preferences from Settings → Delete account. Local app data can be removed by deleting the app. Security and reliability logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed to investigate abuse or failures, then deleted or overwritten through routine log rotation. We may retain limited records longer when required by law or to resolve an active security incident.
